Department of Public Health Dentistry, Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, in association with Sathya Special School, Indian Dental Association (Puducherry), Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry (TN chapter) and Special Olympic Bharath celebrated “Eunice Kennedy Shrivel Day” by conducting comprehensive oral health program for special Olympic athletes on 23 rd and 24th July 2018 at Sacred Heart Church, Puducherry.
The two days special Olympic athletic oral health program attracted 281 special children from 15 different special schools in and around Puducherry. All the special children were screened for various oral health diseases and emergency palliative primary and secondary oral health procedures were provided along with health education. The program was monitored and evaluated by Professor Sonal Joshi, Special Olympic Bharath representative, Conservative Dentist and Endodontist, VK Institute of Dental Sciences, Belgaum.
