This study was done among 30 children aged between 5 to 12 years. The extent and severity of extrinsic stains was found using a Modified Lobene stain index. These children were divided into two groups for comparing the scores obtained from the index used. One group consisted of orphans living in orphanage and another group consisting of children living with parents. The results of the study showed that the extent and severity of stain was more for those children living in orphans than those living with their parents.
From this study it can be said that, children living in orphanages need more attention when it comes to their oral health.
